Bill Cason, 82, of Helena, died Wednesday, September 12. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, September 15, at Fishing Creek Cemetery, Lumber City. Visitation is Friday, 6:00 – 8:00P.M. A native of Lakeland, FL, Mr. Cason was the son of the late Ben and Mamie Katherine Baker Cason.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a block mason. Mr. Cason was a member of both Snowhill Church of God and McRae Church of God and was married to the late Bessie Irene Carpenter Cason. Survivors include his children, Billie Rene Godfrey (Roger Pope) of Hazlehurst and Brian (Tammy) Cason of McRae; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
