Billie Washington was born on October 28, 1932, in Dallas, Texas. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord on May 15, 2018, in Grand Prairie, Texas, at age 85. After high school graduation, Billie went on to attend various institutions of higher learning, including Bishop College, East Texas State University, El Centro College, and Mountain View Community College.

After earning her degrees, Billie enjoying a lifelong career in Education. Notably, she established Success Students Training Institute, a place for students to gain skills and earn their GED. Billie retired as an Academic Counselor.

Affectionately regarded as “Mi Mi” by her grandchildren, Billie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and attended City Temple Seven Day Adventist Church. She delighted in history, religious studies, animals, gardening, and holistic living. She was very proud of her culture – African American and Cherokee Indian.

A member of the Black Panther Party, Billie had a passion to relentlessly fight for equality and justice for all. Strong-willed. Smart.

Fiesty. Caring. Billie Washington will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence Beaver and Vanilla Brown Beaver; son, Archie Washington; and grandson, Chase Anderson. Those left to cherish precious memories include her children: Sheila Guillory, Michael Washington and his wife, Mary, and Lisa Hammonds and her husband, John; grandchildren: Kristen “Dr. G” Guillory, Danielle Guillory Anderson and her husband, Tedashii, Jason Guillory and his wife, Chastity, Michael Washington II and his wife, Rhatisha, Leyton Hammonds, Justin Hammonds, Jonathan Washington, and Tony Washington; great-grandsons: Jaden Anderson, Callin Anderson, Kai Anderson, and Michael Washington III; and a host of other relatives and friends.
