Billie Jo Branham, 67 of Ashland, passed away after a lengthy battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her girls and loving family. She was born on March 26, 1951 to the late William Manford and Elva Bea Tackett Branham. Branham of Cameron, Wisconsin; one sister Teresa Sword (Jim) of Ashland; 13 grandchildren, Harper Howell, Hannah Howell, Cydney Thompson, Cole Thompson, Taylor Fultz, Trevor Fultz (Hannah), Cassandra Fultz, Jacob Lusby, Joshua Lusby, Joseph Lusby, Lucas Bradley-Branham, Emily Bradley, and Grace Bradley; along with a host of extended family and friends.

After graduating from Boyd County High School in 1969, she and a couple girlfriends went to Washington, DC to work for the FBI. When she returned home, she started a family and enjoyed working from home as a seamstress. Later, she pursued a career as a bookkeeper and finally retired from the Boyd County Courthouse.

Ms. Branham attended Plaza Nazarene Church and was a past Sunday School Superintendent. As a member of the Ashland Elks BPOE #350, she volunteered her time serving the community and those in need. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 6:30 pm, in the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Russell, with Rev.

Rob Hale officiating. Friends may call at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either: The Diabolical Boob Posse, 1501 Fox Drive, Catlettsburg, KY 41129 or to Caniff Funeral Home, 528 Wheatley Road, Ashland, KY, 41101 to help offset funeral costs.

The Diabolical Boob Posse is a non-profit organization founded by Tippi Thompson, daughter who is also a breast cancer survivor. As a small blessing, the foundation raises money to provide gift cards for food and gas to other breast cancer survivors and fighters.
