Mr. Billy Burkeen, 76, of Murray, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Murray Calloway County Hospital. Billy was born September 27, 1942 to the late James Hugh and Earis Weatherford Burkeen. He was employed by Tappan until 1977.

He was then employed by Greenfiled Bros. Tire in Marshall County, KY until 1982. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and on special trips and always loved having them close.

He attended Palestine Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burkeen was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Black and a brother, James W. Burkeen. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Roberts Burkeen, two daughters, Kathy Jane Dillon (Daniel) of Dexter, Karon Sue Perry (Bobby) of Murray; one son, Mickey Hill (Beth) of Benton; seven grandchildren, Jessica Baladaz (Jason) of Forney TX, Heidi Bierderman of Murray, Codie Clark (Shelby) of Murray, Danyel Clark (best friend Cody) of Murray, Braxton Perry of Murray, Chase and Chance Hill of Benton; Nine great grandchildren, Kristian Andrus, Jade, James Cameron, Elaina, Conner and Dionica Baladaz, Owen and Evelyn Clark of Murray; three sisters, Melodine Nanney of Hardin, Janette Flowers of Murray and Jennie Carrol of Murray.

The funeral service is set for noon on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at Imes Funeral Home and Crematory, downtown Murray. Ricky Cunningham, Richard Burkeen and James Keeling will officiate and burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Codie Clark, Braxton Perry, Codi Alsobroke, Larry Nimmo and Tim Dotson.

His family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the funeral Home. Imes Funeral Home and Crematory, downtown Murray is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.
