Billy D Wooden, July 21, 1956 — February 24, 2019

Billy Daniel Wooden, was born on July 21, 1956 in Greenwood, Mississippi. He was the oldest child out of thirteen children born to Pastor Louis and First Lady Margaret Wooden. Billy attended John Marshall Harlan High School.

Billy was a member of Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of his parents, Pastor Louis and First Lady Margaret Wooden. Billy loved playing basketball and he was good at it. He would often times “hoop” with his brothers and nephews when he could.

Billy enjoyed taking care of and spending time with all of his nephews and nieces. He was “THE BABYSITTER” and “THE PROTECTOR” of the family. When the children would visit their grandparent’s house they would speak to their grandparents and run immediately upstairs to get whatever treat he had for them.

Billy had a love for jelly beans. He was loved by many and especially loved by his family. On Sunday morning February 24, 2019, he made his transition to Eternal Life.

His grandparents Jerry and Eva King, Roosevelt and Dora Wooden, his only son Billy Daniel Wooden Jr., his sister Sherry Lois Wooden, his brother Matthew Wooden, and his brother-in-law Henry Moore all preceded him in death. Billy leaves to cherish his memories; parents, Pastor Louis C. Wooden (father) and Margaret Wooden (mother); five brothers, Michael, Roosevelt (Sherry), Louis Jr., Timothy, and Elisha (Sherrell); five sisters, Mary, Rachel, Martha, Naomi, and Dora; seventeen nephews and nieces; his aunts, Eddie Bell Brown, Magnolia Simmons, Amanda Dunson, and Johnnie Mae King; one uncle who named him Jerry C.
