Billy Joe Kavulich, 80, of Caldwell, lost his courageous battle with cancer on May 30, 2018, while at home, with his loving wife, Rosalyn, by his side. Billy Joe was born on December 29, 1937, in Kansas, to Opal Shepard. Soon after his birth, Opal married Jesse Meeks, who was a kind and loving father to Billy Joe.

Billy Joe attended school in Marsing, Idaho, and then, in 1955, joined the Navy. During his first marriage, Billy Joe and his wife had four children. They divorced in 1968.

In December 1971, Billy Joe met his soul mate, Rosalyn Martin, and her four children. Billy Joe and Rosalyn were married on December 29, 1971 (Billy Joe’s birthday – so he would always remember their anniversary! ).

Billy Joe worked for Crookham Seed Company for 45 years. It was his home away from home. After his retirement, at the age of 62, he remained close friends with his Crookham “family”.

Billy Joe is survived by his loving wife, Rosalyn; children, Carol Mason (Dave), Gary Martin (Linda), Deanna Evans (Mike Scott), Connie Baumann, and Jim (Butch) Martin; sisters-in-law: Marlene Ririe, Deanna Booth, and Linda Thompson; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and special cousin Rick Stradley. Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Charlotte and sons Everett and Joe Dale, grandson, David Moreno, and sons-in-law: Roger McKee and Robert Culler. At Billy Joe’s request, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart ‘n Home Hospice & Palliative Care, which provided special care and attention during Billy Joes’ last few months of life. Condolences may be given at www.
