After a brief battle with cancer, Billy Wayne Hickson, age 69, left to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday May 26, 2018 in Seven Points Texas. From his birth in Rotan, Texas on July 16, 1948 to his death on Saturday he nourished people around him with love, laughter and any assistance he could provide. He was born in Rotan to Roy Hickson and Billie Ruth Massy.

Billy was a carpenter by trade, learning at a very early age. In adulthood, Billy was a contractor and the owner of Hickson Custom Homes and Construction. His primary place of business was in the Cedar Creek Lake area, but he built houses all over the North Texas region.

Billy had a very competitive spirit and enjoyed golf, soccer, bowling and Texas Hold’em. Billy married Janice Dupree on September 20, 1985 in Rockwall, Texas. Billy is survived by his wife Janice, mother Billie Ruth Massey, four children, Misty Hickson Rhodes and husband Tony, sons, Timmy Wayne Hickson, Danny Lynn Hickson, and Alan Lee Hickson and wife Stephanie, step–daughter Jennifer Artzt, and step-son Richard Roebuck and wife Severina, brothers, Gene Hickson and wife Dawn, Johnny Hickson and wife Vicki, Alton Ray Hickson, sisters, Belinda Dewitt, Gale Crawford, Rowena Hollaway, Candice White, five grandchildren; David Rhoads, Crystal Hickson Lunn, Arron Hickson, Rebekah Hickson, Ethan Hickson, Austin Roebuck, Kayla Roebuck, Billy Malone, Ashley McNair, Cody Artzt, Garrett Artzt, five great– grand children; Zoey and Brayley Lunn, Barrett Malone, Barrett Lunn and Aiden Artzt, and many nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his grand parents; Norris and Oma Hickson, Granville and Jessie May Barron, father; Roy Hickson and step–mother Betty Stretch. Billy will be remembered as a happy and helpful man in the various communities and organizations he served. Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery in Tolosa, Texas.

Following the burial, family will greet friends for fellowship and remembrance in the Fellowship Hall at Providence Baptist Church. The Hickson family would like to extend our gratitude to all our friends and family for all the loving care and condolences. Brother Paul McKinney will be officiating for the Hickson Family.
