Bobbie Jo’s Obituary IN MEMORY OF BOBBIE JO HUTCHINSON TOLBERT BOBBIE JO HUTCHINSON TOLBERT, 83, of Hope Mills, NC, died Saturday morning, April 27, 2019. She was born in the Rocky Gap community of Bland County, Virginia, on May 5, 1935, the daughter of the late Arnold Scott & Emily Pauline Shrader Hutchinson. Bobbie Jo was a charter member of Rocky Gap Chapter #154 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was the salutatorian of her graduating class at Rocky Gap High School and was once elected Miss Bland County. She was employed by Rocky Gap School as a teacher’s aide for several years, at Bailey Lumber Company, Bluefield, WV, at General Injectables & Vaccines, Bastian, VA, and was a member of the Wohlfahrt Haus family. Bobbie Jo loved and enjoyed her many, many friends made during her lifetime.

She was generous, fun-loving and kind to everyone. She especially loved children and her little dog Taz. Above all, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a faithful friend to her neighbors and especially children.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard Franklin Dehart. Bobbie Jo is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Lewis Tolbert; two sons, Richard F. & Suzi Dehart, Jr. and Scott Craig DeHart; two grandchildren, Christopher S. & Mel DeHart and Jessica D. & Scott Martin; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Anne Hutchinson Sutphin; a nephew, Charles Patrick Sutphin and his daughter, Eden Noel (Brandon) Speer. Also surviving are her extended family, two sons & daughter-in-laws, James Tolbert & Shannon Tatum and children, Jimmy and Joseph and Steven & Denise Tolbert and their daughter, Sierra; two daughters & sons-in-law, Tammy & Gary Williams and children Kellyn and Lauren and Angela & Tom Pollitt and children Trevor and Samantha; very special friends, John D & Judy Tolbert.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Rocky Gap United Methodist Church with Rev. Rodney Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Cemetery, Bland.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M. The Tolbert family is in the care of A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, avestandsons.com, (540) 921-2985.
