Bobby Grant Minor Sr., 88, passed away in his sleep at home on Friday, May 3, 2019. He was born in Davie County on November 24, 1930 to Lewis Grant and Ella Fry Minor. He is preceded in death by both his parents, one son, Randall G. Minor, and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mickey Ann Collins. He is also survived by his children: Bobby Minor Jr. (Janet), Debbie Livengood (Dennis), Michael Minor (Anita), Walt Minor (Annette) and Renee Carter (Marty), all of Advance, NC. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: B.G. Minor (Mandy), Carmen Minor, Andrew Minor (Hannah), Candace Atwood (Mark), April Livengood, Megan Burcham (Dallas), Nathan Minor, Matthew Carter (Rachel), Luke Carter, Paige Carter and great-grandchildren: Casey Atwood, Jacob Atwood, Grant Minor, Keegan Minor and Christopher Carter.

He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters. Bob was a diesel mechanic at McLean Trucking Company for nearly 30 years while also raising tobacco in Davie County. Later he worked with his wife and sons operating a dairy on their Yadkin River farm.

He was a member of the Elbaville United Methodist Church for many years. A graveside service will be held at the Elbaville United Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bobby’s honor. Checks should be made payable to the Elbaville United Methodist Church, with the Little Tinman Heart Fund noted in the memo section. PO Box #2276, Advance, NC 27006.
