Bobby Wayne “Popsie” Baker, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his home. Born February 20, 1944 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Otto Guy and Lorena Wall Baker. Bobby received his degree in Criminal Justice and was retired as a Captain at the SC Department of Corrections.

He was a former member of the National Guard and was a Mason. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Greta Varner Baker; daughter, Tina Baker Linder; granddaughters, Ashley Linder Hodge (Tyler) and Kayla Nicole Linder; great grandchildren, Hannah, Brantley, Liam and Trevor; and his sister-in-law, Peggy J. Baker. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Judy Elaine Bailey, Sandra Everette, and Ronald N. Baker.

Visitation will be at 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church, 140 Cedar Springs Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302. A funeral service will be at 3:15 PM, at the church, conducted by Pastor Todd Lowe. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
