Obituary for Boyd Dale Fairburn Boyd Dale Fairburn passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home in Madisonville, LA. He was born on May 28, 1959 in New Orleans, LA to the late Newton L. Fairburn and Lucy Kuhn Fairburn. Dale was married to his beloved wife, Rhonda Olson Fairburn, for 37 years.

He was the loving father of Erica Fairburn Kordsmeier (James), Ashley Fairburn Callahan (Javis), and Nicole Fairburn Loyacano (Glenn). Dale was the proud grandfather (“Poppa”) of Eden Kordsmeier, Cohen Kordsmeier, Callen Kordsmeier, Bailey Callahan, Brooklynne Callahan, Bella Callahan, Brie Callahan, and Vaughn Loyacano. He was the brother of Alice “Sally” Willie, Leroy Fairburn, Brent Fairburn, and the late David Fairburn.

Dale graduated from Covington High School and for a number of years following his graduation he worked as an EMT. For 30 plus years he worked for Winn Dixie Stores of LA, most recently as Produce Manager in the Covington store. He was adored by his customers.

Dale was a member of Church of the King where he served on the parking lot team and with a men’s small group. For the past three years he served in SMILE, a ministry to single mothers and their children. The family would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Vince Cataldo and the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Baton Rouge, LA; the staff at M.D. Anderson Houston; the staff with St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice and countless friends and family members who have supported them through this difficult journey.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life Service at Church of the King Annex, 22205 Little Creek Rd, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Visitation from 9:00 AM until service time.
