Bradley “Brad” Lee Thompson, 76, of Mt. Gilead, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle. Born May 13, 1942 in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Lacy and Ruth Harris Thompson.

He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was an assembler in the retail fixture manufacturing business. Brad was a faithful deer hunter and holds the state record for longest G’2 antler on a buck deer of 9 ½” long. He also loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife of three years, Dawn C. Thompson of the home; one stepson, Joseph Lee Cranford of Mt. Gilead; three brothers, Phil Thompson and Sam Thompson both of Mt. Gilead, and Jason Thompson of Albemarle; six sisters, R. Jean McKeithan, Tony Surratt, Becky Dunn, Marie Bowles, Alice Richardson all of Mt.

Gilead, and Brenda Marley of Robbins; and two step grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 657 Liberty Hill Baptist Church Road, Mt. Gilead.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
