On Monday, May 20, 2019, Brandon Guyant, 28 – Neenah High School class of 2008; Mid State Technical College ’11-‘14, died from an opioid overdose in his home after a long, tiring battle with addiction. Brandon was born on July 6, 1990, son of Michele and Kurt Armstrong. As a child, Brandon enjoyed BMX biking and hockey.

He started attending UW-Stevens Point Hockey games as a young child with his grandfather and continued going with his fiancée, Melissa. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending quiet time in nature. Brandon enjoyed traveling and exploring.

His recent adventures include a trip to Niagara Falls and three trips to Mexico. Brandon also enjoyed disc golfing with his friends. He loved his cat, Maggie, and dogs, Thor and Odin considering them part of his family.

Over the last three years, the fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous was extremely important to him. Although he struggled in his recovery, he always felt that was his home. Brandon is survived by his fiancée, Melissa Gritton; parents, Michele and Kurt Armstrong; siblings, Jacob, Shawnee, Anna, and Neil; Grandpa, George (Joan) Guyant; Uncle Bert and Aunt Jess Guyant; cousins Michael (fiancée Mattea) Miller and Dylan and Amber Miller.

He is further survived by Melissa’s parents, Deacon Tom and Lori Gritton and Melissa’s brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Mary Gritton; and foreign exchange brother, Radoslav. Brandon was preceded in death by his beloved Grandma, Patricia Guyant, and an unborn child that Brandon and Melissa lost through miscarriage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
