Brenda’s Obituary Brenda D. Whitaker, 67, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at her home. She was born May 9, 1951, in Batesville to the late William Glenn and Delcene Lucille Morris. Brenda graduated from South Ripley High School in 1969.

On September 14, 1974, she married Douglas Whitaker in Versailles and he survives. Brenda chose to clean homes in the Lafayette area for many years, so she could be home when her children came home from school. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping, cooking, lighthouses, and traveling.

Surviving with her husband are her children Chad J. (Shanda) Whitaker of Rossville, Matthew D. (Jamie Merrick) Whitaker of Indianapolis and her granddaughter Ellie L. Whitaker of Lafayette. Also surviving is her sister Connie J. Morris of Versailles. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.

Service will be at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. , Pastor Terry Chase officiating. Entombment will be at be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Brenda’s memory.
