Brendan Joseph Bogue passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on September 1st. Born October 24, 1961, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Dearly beloved brother of Patricia (Irv) Albright, Maureen (Ciaran) Prunty, Sean (Susanna) Bogue; dear uncle of Kevin (Sarah) & Shane (Donna) Prunty; Luke, Candace, John, Leah Albright & Bridget (Clay) Ackerland; Sean & Brendan Bogue; three beloved grand nephews, and many relatives in Canada, Ireland, and Australia.

He was preceded in death by his beloved older brother Kevin and his parents John and Moya Bogue. He went to St. Cecilia’s, but left after the 7th grade to live in Ireland and to finish his education at St. Patrick’s College in Cavan, Ireland. He made his home in Cavan for many years, helping with the family farm, and the running of the family’s pub, inn and grocery, the Dew Drop Inn.

He moved back to his adopted home in San Francisco in 1989. He was a member of the UICC. Brendan was a modest man of modest means with a heart of gold as everyone who knew him would agree.

One of the recent highlights of his life was visiting his relatives in Ireland in 2017. He loved Irish music, Gaelic football, the SF Giants, 49rs, SJ Sharks, and amateur boxing. He was a staunch supporter of a united Ireland.

He especially enjoyed his nephews and nieces, he was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him in San Francisco and everywhere he lived and traveled to. Friends may call to Duggan’s Funeral Service, 3434 17th St. on Sunday September 9th for the Vigil at 5pm. A Celebration of Life Mass (Funeral Mass) will be held in the Sunset District at St. Cecilia’s Church on Monday September 10th at 10:00am.

Committal, Co. Cavan. In lieu of flowers donations preferred to St Anthony’s Foundation Dining Room.
