On August 18, 1973, he married Sally Irene Hallstrom. They raised one daughter, Angela, and two sons Jared and Justin. Brian had a passion for many things, but the most important of these is his love for Jesus Christ.

He shared this daily with his family, and everyone he encountered each and every day. This was also shown through his career as a pastor in Bock, MN at Emmanuel Church, and then at Grace Lutheran Church in Deephaven, MN. Upon leaving the ministry he continued following his passion for people serving those with disabilities.

He truly made a powerful impact on those he met. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Cecil; mother, Evelyn, and his brothers Kurt and Myles. His legacy will be carried on by those close to him.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sally; his 3 children, Angela Harden (Matt), Jared Johnson (Kerri) and Justin Johnson (Ashley); 6 grandchildren, Karissa, Kaylin, Micah, Ava, Brockton, soon to be arriving grandson; his sister Julie Matula; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his brothers-in law and sisters-in-law. Sally and the family would like to invite you for a visitation from 10 to 11 followed by a celebration of life service at 11 on Saturday September the 15 in the Chapel at Grace Church Eden Prairie 9301 Eden Prairie Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55347. One of Sally and Brian’s favorite things to do was to go for walks at Purgatory Park in Minnetonka.

Any contributions will be used dedicate a bench there in remembrance of Brian. Sally hopes this bench can be a place that others can enjoy, as well as be a place to remember Brian.
