OBITUARY Bridget D. McCaffrey March 4, 1935 – September 20, 2018 Bridget D. McCaffrey, age 83, of Vestavia Hills passed away on September 20, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John E. McCaffrey.

She is survived by her three sons, Douglas (Lisa), Tim (Mary)and Pat (Tracie); grandchildren, Colleen, Amy, Rebecca, Anna, Kathryn, Caroline, Kellie, Michael and Levi; great grandchildren, Luke, Norah and Ella Grace. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Sandi) Durick, sister, Debra Durick and sister-in-law Deanie Durick. Bridget was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

She served on the Sodality’s special Tree of Honor for her dedication and exemplary work for Our Lady of Peace Guild. She was an Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She also served as Sacristan many years.

Bridget was active in Community affairs. She was vice president and president of the Forthian Literary Club and served as vice president and president of the Camillia Garden Club. She was involved with The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library where she served as secretary for several years.

Memorial Mass will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church September 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, www.
