Brocton “Pappy” Oglesby, 66, of White Plains, KY passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Baptist Health Madisonville. He was born in Madisonville, KY on May 22, 1952 to the late Wayne Oglesby and the late Betty Lou Falk Winfree . He was a of the Christian faith and was a Kentucky Colonel He had retired as director of Hopkins County Emergency Management Agency; had worked in the Sanitation Department and as a coal miner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Prowse Oglesby and his brother, Jeffery Lynn Oglesby . He is survived by his two children: J.T. Oglesby of White Plains, KY and Joey Oglesby and his wife, Tessa, of Barnsley, KY; a sister, JoBeth Appleby of Mortons Gap, KY; sister in law; Kim Hurless and her husband, Jim, of Smyrna, TN; mother in law, Faye Prowse of Nortonville, KY; six grandchildren: Kaesey Van Dyken, Michael Luckett, Dylan Oglesby, Marc Oglesby, Kaelyn Oglesby, and Josie Oglesby; one great grandchild, Raylan Van Dyken; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Pastor Nathan Bruce officiating and burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 From 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to: WTTL Toy Drive. Send checks made payable to WTTL Toy Drive to Hancock Bank or drop toys off at WTTL Radio Station in Madisonville, KY.
