Bruce “Birdie” John Azinger November 02, 1963 – December 27, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Bruce John “Birdie” Azinger, 55, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 27, 2018 following a sudden illness. There will be no services. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.

Bruce is survived by his mother, Barbara Azinger of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Dan Azinger, Dave Azinger, Lori Hagmeier and Chris Keiper all of Cedar Rapids, and Julie Sanchez of Griffith, IN; several nieces, nephews; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Azinger; his brother, Michael Azinger; and brother in law, Terry Hagmeier. Bruce was born on November 2, 1963 in Cedar Rapids, son of Thomas and Barbara Nagel Azinger.

He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1982, and was an Army veteran. Birdie was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears, and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Olivet Neighborhood Mission, 230 10th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.
