Bruce David Dent, 81, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away October 28, 2018. A resident of Boca Raton for almost 50 years, he is survived by his beloved wife, Jane, having just celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born and raised in Endicott, NY, he is a graduate of Lafayette College in PA and Florida Atlantic University having earned an MBA.

Bruce worked with IBM for 33 years and was on the team that developed the Personal Computer. After retiring he started his own computer consulting business in Boca Raton. He will be remembered for his leadership skills with the Boy Scouts of America, the Golden Harbour Yacht Club and the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton.

Bruce is also survived by his loving children: Eric B. (Amy M.) Dent, Kyle D. (Jacqueline M.) Dent, Rebecca D. (John R.) Clark; grandchildren: Anthony (Hannah), Julia, Alec, Dominic and Elena Dent; Riley and Jack Clark; sister Audrey M. (John) Baumberger; sister-in-law Marcia (Richard) Kelley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 2, 2018, 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton. A reception will follow.
