Bruce’s Obituary Bruce Joseph Pfarr passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 4, 2019 at the age of 74. He was born November 9, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to John Edward Pfarr and Agnes Marie (Andrew) Pfarr. Bruce graduated from Kenwood High School, Es MD in 1962.

Following graduation, Bruce enrolled in the Baltimore County Police Academy and served as officer and later detective with the Baltimore County Police Department for 20 years. He was honored to be elected as President of Lodge 4 Fraternal Order of Police in 1974. After leaving the force and moving to Florida, Bruce worked in many jobs including construction, officer for Orange County Animal Control and 14 years as contract driver for the postal service.

He retired in 2013. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John. Among Bruce’s survivors are his sister in law Pauline Pfarr, and nephews Steven (Christina) and John, Jr along with several grand nieces and nephews and one great grandnephew, all of Baltimore, MD.

Bruce was united in marriage to Brenda Hofsommer in 1966. They were later divorced. From this marriage Bruce is survived by his daughter, Candessa Lynn Pfarr, Belle Chasse LA, Grandson, Scott (Joanna) Cunningham, Great granddaughter Annabeth and Great grandson Anthony, Gretna LA, Grandson Zachery (Michael Seth) Cunningham, Hinesville, GA, and Granddaughter Kelsey Marie Mathews (Ryan Perkins) Waterford, CT Bruce married Bernice Gilliam on November 29, 1986.

She preceded him in death on March 1, 2011. Bruce is survived by stepdaughter Deborah (Jack) Keener, Baltimore MD, stepsons Robert (Donna) Gilliam, Mount Airy, MD, Michael (Tena Hartman) Baltimore, MD, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and brother in law Charles (Chuck) Sweitzer, Baltimore MD. Bruce became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on May 15, 1988 when he joined South Goldenrod Lodge 2339 where he held offices of Governor and Administrator.

In 1994, he transferred his membership to County Line 2427 where he held several offices, including four terms as Governor. Bruce elevated to the Moose Legion in 1989, serving as President of Indian River 178 in 2001-2002, and received his Fellowship Degree in 1992. He was a member of the 25 Club, sponsoring 78 members.

Bruce will be missed by many Moose members at Moosehaven and throughout the fraternity. Bruce moved to Moosehaven on December 29, 2016, where he met and began to love Marge Walter. The couple joyously expressed their love by exchanging vows in a Native American Ceremony in Las Cruces NM on July 3, 2018.

Bruce leaves behind to mourn, Margie Walter of Moosehaven, Orange Park, FL, stepson Brekka (Jody) Fosdal granddaughter Sierra and grandson Hunter in Epworth IA. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Moosehaven Chapel on March 25, 2019 at 1 PM.
