Obituary for Bruce Paul Cameron MD Cameron, Bruce Paul, MD Bruce was born July 9, 1942 to Martha Klein and James Cameron, joining a brother, Robert, and a sister, Martha. He lived in Waukon, IA until attending college in Ames, IA and the University of IA in Iowa City where he obtained his MD in 1965. He died at North Memorial Hospital on June 25, 2018, having resided in Plymouth the last 40 + years.

Bruce and Mary Ann Robinson were married June 4, 1965 in Oelwein, IA. Following graduation from medical school there was an internship in Flint, Ml and he was then drafted into the US Navy and served at the Naval Air Station in Minneapolis for two years. Bruce joined Broadway Suburban Clinic in 1967 and was a family practitioner until retirement.

He then worked part time at Employee Health at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN before again retiring. He attended regular Tumor Conferences at the hospital as a way of keeping up-to-date medically and enjoyed chatting with longtime friends and colleagues. He and fellow retired docs formed a casual group, The Old Farts, and met weekly to solve the world’s problems.

Bruce became the designated driver for members who were unable to drive any longer so theycould be included. Bruce enjoyed time spent with his family at the cabin and in keeping up with activities of them and the grandchildren. Following their interests and those of the grandchildren were day brighteners.

Upon joining Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park he joined the choir, no longer having to worry about ‘call’ or having to work late to attend. Men’s Bible Study became a priority and many more friends were made. He loved Bible study, on his own and in a group, and enjoyed learning and sharing ideas.

He is survived by wife, Mary Ann Cameron; 3 children, David (wife Jennifer and grandchildren Max and Jillian), Richard (wife Jennifer Everett and grandchild Clara) and Deborah and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor’s choice. Memorial service Monday 7/2/18 at 1:00 PM at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Road, St. Louis Park.
