Bruce Westley Edwards, Jr. (78), of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. He was born June 9, 1940, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Bruce W. and Mozelle Edwards. Bruce retired from Vernay Laboratories at 52, after rising to Assistant Plant Manager, then founded family business, Edwards Masonry as the master mason, and later became a master carpenter during his second retirement.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol; children John Edwards (Stephanie), Valerie Edwards-Barber, Suzanne McClendon (Roger), Bruce Edwards III (Kimberly) and Lesley Edwards-Gaither (Julian); grandchildren Jeffrey, Kelsey, Ernest III, Deja, Dia (Dominick), Maya, Desere’, Marquis, Jordan, Jonathan, Isaiah, Joshua and Gabriel; great-grandson, Myles; sisters, Betty Stone (William) and Merry Lee Hall (Vincent) and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by sister Joyce Baber and brother Buck (Wilma) Edwards. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 2 pm at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, Springfield, Ohio.
