OBITUARY Bud Poore November 27, 1941 – January 7, 2019 On Monday, January 7, 2019, Guendell “Bud” Eugene Poore, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at age 77. Bud was born on November 27, 1941 in Byrdstown, TN to Ralph and Dean Poore. He married Peggy Ruth Dodson of Columbia, TN, on December 30, 1966, and recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.

They raised one son, Brian. After graduating from high school, Bud joined the Army Reserve in 1963 and continued his service as a Motor Pool Sergeant until being honorably discharged in 1972. Bud was employed at H.G. Hill throughout most of his young life and retired after over 35 years.

He then enjoyed his part-time job at Metro Wholesale Floral. Bud enjoyed working outside, especially gardening, woodworking, and working on his fishponds. He also enjoyed playing with his two grandchildren and attending their numerous extracurricular activities.

Bud was preceded in death by father, Ralph and mother, Dean of Byrdstown; Sister, Naomi Wood; and brother-in-law Roger Dodson. He is survived by wife Peggy Dodson Poore; son Brian Poore; brother Jackie (Brenda) Poore; grandchildren Breanna (Matthew) McCloud and Dalton (fiancé Alyssa) Poore; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9th from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 10th from 12:00 until 2:00 pm with funeral service to immediately follow. Dr. Chuck Groover will be officiating with interment at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

Serving as active pallbearers are Dalton Poore, Matthew McCloud, Kenneth “Chipper” Smith III, Robert “Trey” Lee Wood III, Robert “Bobby” Lee Wood Jr., Scott Ray, Jason Sherwood, and Brandon Poore. Honorary pallbearers are Rabon Dodson, Mike McDonald, Henry Burch, and Jackie D. Poore. Flowers or donations may be sent to Hermitage Funeral Home.
