Edward F. (Buddy) Widel, 83, of Orwigsburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 19th, at Orwigsburg Center. Buddy was born in Pottsville on September 23, 1934, a son of the late Angeline (Mignucci) and Edward Widel. He was the husband of Mary Louise (Ward) Widel.

They were married October 1st, 1955. He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. He worked as a Loan Officer at Miners Bank in Minersville.

He was well known in the area for his Music & his Band, which he had for over 40years, The Buddy Widel Trio. In addition to his wife Mary, of 63 years, Buddy is also survived by two sons Gregory and Michael Widel; Grandsons Michael & Anthony Widel He was predeceased by his son Mark Widel in January of this year, and his brother James Widel, in 1978. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Schuylkill Haven on Monday September 24th at 10:30 AM with Rev.

Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating. Visitation will be in the chapel from 9:15 until 10:15 AM.

Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Pottsville. Hamilton -Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
