OBITUARY Buford Monroe Gross June 29, 1933 – July 12, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Funeral services for Buford M. Gross, 85; of Decatur, AL. will be Monday, July 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, AL. with Rev.

Billy Harper officiating. The burial will follow at Cullman Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Moss Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Gross passed away July 12, 2018 at the home of his daughter, Dea Anna Short. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, a Veteran of the United States Army, and a graduate of Auburn University. He retired from the Federal Land Bank of Jackson, MS.

As a senior credit analyst and appraiser. He lived his life of agriculture by raising a garden every year, working on the family farms, and making wood furniture. He is preceded in death by his parents; Dr. Charles M. Gross and Christine Teichmiller Gross; and a brother, Augustus “Gus” Gross.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jayne Morrison Gross; three children: Philip M. Gross, Holly Beth Gross, and Dea Anna Short (Brian); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Christina Murphy (Loran) and Savannah Katharine Gross; seven siblings: Katharine Millar, Tom Gross (Bonnie), Rachel Schaefers (Theodore), Imogene Heatherly (Raymond), Christine Livingston (Michael), Perry Gross (Teresa), and Barbara Harper, and multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Livingston, Randy Smith, Zane Legg, Mike Legg, Eddie Lackey, and Dwight “Frog” Legg. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Hospice of the Valley.
