Burton “Nick” Stewart Miller April 05, 1924 – May 08, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Died at the age of 95 at Hospital in Leesburg, Va on May 8th, 2019 after suffering from severe breathing issues and Lymphedema. A native New Yorker, attended NYU. A World War II veteran, served in Europe, finishing his studies at the University of Geneva, majoring in economics.

A world traveler as a Foreign Service officer having lived in Brazil and in Portugal returning to the US in 1969. A linguist, fluent in six languages, a scholar, a collector and dealer of rare books. He was talented as a singer, musician and story teller.

In addition to his wife Lillian Miller (nee Bloem), he is survived by his two biological daughters residing in São Paulo, Brazil, Elizabeth J. Miller and Laurie A. Miller from his first wife Elaine; by his step children from his second wife Mary Anne, Robert D. Hennessy, Patricia A. Gresham and James M. Hennessy; by all his grandchildren: Terry, Andre, Jessica, Sara, Michael, Steven, Thomas and great-grandchildren: Samantha and Joshua. After having lived in Thousand Oaks, San Francisco and Tehachapi in Ca, Nick moved to Purcellville, Va for the past nine years. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
