Skogen age 86 of Fergus Falls, MN formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN died February 17, 2019 at the Broen Nursing Home in Fergus Falls, MN. Calvin Morris Skogen was born November 20, 1932 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Arthur and Lena (Huseby) Skogen. He grew up on a farm in rural Pelican Rapids, MN and received his education in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1950.

In 1951 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Eckel. They made their home and raised their family in Detroit Lakes, MN. Cal owned and operated Cal’s Standard Station and later Cal’s Marine in Detroit Lakes.

In 1976 they moved to Fergus Falls, where he owned and operated Skogen’s T.V. until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, and playing cards. Cal is survived by three sons, Maurice (Cindy) Skogen, of Fergus Falls, MN; Marcus (Dawn) Skogen, of Minnetonka, MN; and Jack (Kirsten) Skogen, of Minneapolis, MN; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Corrine (Dennis) Gilbertson, of Phoenix, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Cal was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Skogen, Andy Skogen, and Kermit Skogen; and his parents. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
