Mr. Calvin Parker Poole, Jr., 83, of Autryville passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018. Born and raised in Fayetteville, he graduated from NC State in 1959, and he was a pilot in the US Navy. Calvin was briefly an industrial arts teacher in Greensboro before moving his family back to Fayetteville to run a real estate business with his parents.

He was the chairman of the Fayetteville Housing Authority for 40 years. Calvin was a longtime supporter of Boy Scout Troop #747. He is survived by his loving wife, April Riley Poole; a daughter, Gwen Bell and husband, Stewart, of Fayetteville; a son, C. Parker Poole, III of Asheville; two step children, Thom Phillips of Elk Grove, Cali.

and April Hall and husband, Danny, of Lubango, Angola; and five grandchildren, Andrew Bell and wife, Stacey, of Washington, DC, Mary Stewart Bell of Washington, DC, Hunter P. Bell of Raleigh, Riley Hall and McKenna Hall, both of Lubango, Angola. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Snyder Memorial Baptist Church with Revs. John Cook, Wayne Ham and Sandy Saunders officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Gathering Hall at the church. Calvin was an avid reader, enjoyed his farm, his dogs, his tractor, his church, his community and flying; but most importantly, he loved his family.
