Cameron John Hooyer died in Salt Lake City on July 19, 2018, after being struck by a Front Runner train. He was six days short of his 23rd birthday. Cameron is survived by his two parents, Mark & Carla Hooyer and younger sister, Kira Hooyer, all of Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

Cameron was a lifelong cyclist, designer, entrepreneur, and a Teaching Fellow in the Multi-Disciplinary Design Program at the University of Utah. An open house will be held in his honor on Friday evening, July 27, from 7-9 pm at the College of Architecture and Design at the University of Utah, on campus at 375 S. 1530 East. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 2 pm at Risen Life Church, 2780 E. 3900 South, Holladay, UT.
