Obituary for Carl Edmond Blackmon Carl Edmond Blackmon, age 86 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 in Gordon Hospital. Carl was born on November 17, 1931 in Shelbyville, TN to the late Carl Blackmon and Annie Mae Day Blackmon. In addition to his parents, Carl is also preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Walraven Blackmon; and his grandparents, Jim Day and Veller Day.

He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and was retired from Fafnir. Carl is survived by his two sons, Macky Blackmon and his wife Brenda, and Jimmy Blackmon and his wife Lisa; one grandson, Shaun Blackmon; and one great-grandson, Drake Blackmon all of Calhoun. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 21st at 10:30 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are: Elvin Glass, Ricky Simpson, Gregory Weaver, and Richard Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers are: Harvey Gowens and C.L. Weaver.
