OBITUARY Carl L. Mead January 15, 1939 – December 7, 2018 Carl Lee Mead passed away peacefully at home in Pensacola, Florida on December 7, 2018 with his wife and daughter at his side. He was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on January 15, 1939 to John Allen Mead and Dixie Brown Mead. He married the love of his life and life long partner, Bonnie Dorman Mead on Thanksgiving Day November 22, 1962 in Pensacola, Florida at Richards Memorial United Methodist Church.

The church of their faith. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary which also fell on Thanksgiving Day this November 22, 2018. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, Florida where he met his wife, Bonnie.

He then attended Louisiana Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a devoted family man and worked as an avionics electrical engineer at several aircraft companies throughout his career and also owned his own engineering consulting business. He was a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

After living all over the United States and other countries during his career he could not wait to return to Florida where he loved the water and spending time on his boat with his family. He loved traveling with his wife and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his two small papillon dogs, Angel and Toy.

He loved people, was very generous, a big jokester, and never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Dixie Mead and four sisters Virgie, Louise, Imogene and Doris June. Carl is survived and will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Bonnie, loving daughter Lisa Jennings (William), and six grandchildren, Wesley (Lizzi), Joely, David, Tara, Tristan and Christopher.

He is also survived by his step grandson Patrick, and two step great grandchildren, Ashton and Avery. Funeral services for Carl will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2018 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola. Visitation will also be held Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park.
