Obituary for Carl T. Scholl Carl Townsend Scholl, age 95, of DeMotte, IN passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at his residence. Carl was born November 26, 1923 in Clark County, Indiana. He was the son of John C. and Martha(Townsend) Scholl.
Carl served his country in the Army in Normandy during WWII. During that time he received award such as the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, a good conduct medal, and a Victory Medal World War II. When he was 21, he married the love of his life Katie Hawes, on September 15, 1945 in Sellersburg, IN.
He was employed as a crane operator for US Steel for over 35 years. Carl enjoyed farming and gardening in his spare time. He was a little league umpire and coach for many years.
He enjoyed hobbies like bowling, and camping and fishing with his family. Surviving along with his loving wife Katie are his children, Stanly (Nancy)Scholl of Demotte, IN, Dennis Scholl of DeMotte,IN and Carla (Matt)Douglas of Houston TX. Six Grandchildren , Dennis (Virginia) Scholl, Carl (Jamie)Scholl, Denise Nuttall, Stacy Scholl, Kaitlyn Staton (Colin Ray), Matthew Staton.
Great Grandchildren, Christina, Ed, Shawn, Mark and Landen, and eight brothers and sisters. Carl was preceded in death by, his parents, daughter-in-law Judy Scholl and seven brothers and sisters. Friends may visit at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Tuesday, December 18th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Services for Carl will be held at the DeMotte United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 with Pastor Ed van Wijk officiating. Burial will follow at the DeMotte Cemetery, DeMotte, IN with military honors. Memorial contributions can me made to the VA Hospital of Lafayette,IN.
