Carl W. Strawn, Sr. of Warren, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:49 a.m. at his residence. He was 70. Mr. Strawn was born on April 22, 1949 in Cameron, West Virginia, the son of the late Charles W. “Bud” and Betty (Parsons) Strawn.

Mr. Strawn retired in 2002 after 30 years of service at General Motors Lordstown. Carl was proud United States Army Veteran. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and boating.

Carl enjoyed visiting his Uncle Bill and Aunt Nancy and his family in West Virginia. Most of all Carl loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved his wife Sue with all of his heart. He is survived by his wife, Susan Aulizia Strawn, whom he married June 25, 1983; three daughters: Kelly (Rich) Mimna of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sherry (Andrew Castanda) Strawn-Santos of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Deborah Strawn of Howland; two sons: Carl “Buddy” Strawn, Jr. of Akron and Ken Jankovich of Cortland; one sister Judy Strawn and Janet Yohman of Mecca; a sister in law Gabi Strawn of Warren; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother Curtis Strawn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Center, 1745 Niles Cortland Road NE #5, Warren, Ohio 44484 or any organization that benefits veterans in Carl’s honor. Memorial services will be at a future date.
