CARMIN J YANNETELLI February 9, 1924 – December 16, 2018 Carmine J. Yannetelli, 94 Decorated Veteran Carmine Joseph Yannetelli (Yank) passed away at the age of 94 on December 16, 2018 in Vero Beach, Florida. He was born on February 9, 1924 in Bound Brook, NJ and resided there until he joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1942. He was a member of the Pioneer Engineers, 4th Division and 6th Division, 28 Regiment stationed in Guadalcanal, Okinawa and the Marshall Islands.

He was also a member of the elite organization named the Devil Dogs. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in combat in Eniwetok Atoll in 1944. He was Honorably discharged in 1945.

Mr. Yannetelli remained active in the Marine Corp League #58 of Vero Beach, Fl and held the rank of Quarter Master and Chaplain until his death. He was very active in the Toys for Tots campaign and collected and distributed toys until he was 92. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Mr. Yannetelli resided in Upper Montclair, NJ until his move to Vero Beach, Fl. approx. 30 years ago.

He was a principal owner of A. Cestone Company, Glen Ridge NJ. until he retired. Yank was predeceased by his parents, Louise and Michael Yannetelli, his sister Mary Esola, and his brother Peter.

He leaves behind his wife, Dagmar, his loving children, Adrienne O’Such Nittolo (Michael) his son, Richard, (Kathy) his 5 adoring grandsons: Matthew and Marc O’Such, Christopher, Robert and Michael Yannetelli, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Eileen Greck (Vincent) a step-daughter, Michele Abaldo (Steve) and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on January 12, 2018 at 12 noon at St John of the Cross. A military service will be held at Veterans Memorial Island, Vero Beach at 1PM.
