Mrs. Carol Bryant Black, 86, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Carillon Assisted Living. Carol was born in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late Neves Bryant and Estelle Sullivan Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Black; and brothers, Neves Bryant, Jr., Donald W. Bryant and Tom Bryant.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. Wells and husband, Gene of Fayetteville; a brother, Joseph D. Bryant of Prescott, Ariz. ; two granddaughters, Shannon Bahler and husband, Tom of Stedman and Melissa Jernigan and husband, Lee of Wade; and two great grandchildren, Leah Carol Jernigan and Parker Wells Jernigan, both of Wade. Carol worked on Fort Bragg for the Environmental and Natural Res Department as an Informational Computer Specialist.

She especially loved going out into the field with her coworkers. She was a member of Haymount United Methodist Church where she served faithfully in many capacities through the years. She especially enjoyed her Sunday School class and helping in the kitchen on Wednesday nights.

Some of her accomplishments included being the leader of the first urban 4-H Club in Fayetteville, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, active in the Home Extension Club, Fayetteville Woman’s Club, His Little One’s Ministry and Operation In As Much. She was a loving and caring person to her family and friends as well as all who knew her. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to all of the people who provided such loving and compassionate care to Carol at Carillon Assisted Living, Health Keeperz personnel who treated her with such wonderful attention and respect of dignity, and the loving support of her many friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Haymount United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:45 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Haymount United Methodist Church 1700 Fort Bragg Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28303, His Little One’s Ministry, Inc. 108 Great Oaks Fayetteville, NC 28303 and Stonecroft Ministries 10561 Barkley, Suite 500 Overland Park, KS 66212-1834.
