Scotia – Carol Petersen, 86, of Scotia, passed away on Sunday May 27, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Schenectady on September 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Carl and Myrtle (Shave) Dinkelmann. Carol was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School.

She worked for the Scotia-Glenville Schools for 10 years, Trustco Bank for 23 years and after retiring, she worked for AARP. Carol enjoyed family gatherings, vacationing in Cape Cod and Florida, rides through the countryside, reading in her front room where she could enjoy the peace and natural surroundings of her “Cobblestone Knoll” home, in which she lived for 86 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Her sense of humor and her smile was a constant reminder of her gentle love and caring for everyone. She will be greatly missed. Carol is survived by her husband, Donald Petersen; her daughter, Priscilla (Daniel) Brown; her son, Donald (Cindy) Petersen; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11am on Wednesday, May 30th. Services will be at 11am at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Inc. in Scotia. Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery in Scotia.
