Carol’s Obituary Carol Gordon “Buster” Hassell, 70, of 1731 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, NC, died Thursday, May 23, 2019. Born in Tyrrell County on October 4, 1948, he was the son of the late Judy Odell Hassell and Dolly Dixon Hassell Carlisle. He was self-employed in residential construction.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Hassell. Surviving are his two daughters, Carolyn and Kristen Hassell; four sons, Richard, Jason, Ryan, and Matthew Hassell (Kayla); two sisters, Ruby Tynch and Shirley Ashley; four grandchildren, Kaydence, Dylan, Trinity, and Parker; and his dog, Pup-pup, and cat, Tiggy. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Perquimans County Recreation Center.
