Carol Jones, age 50 of Gardner, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 27, 2019. Born September 1, 1968 in Chicago, Carol Marion is the daughter of Karen (nee Kelly) Jones and the late Robert William Jones. She was raised and educated on the south side of Chicago and graduated high school with the class of 1986.

Carol went on to work for International Transload Logistics in Joliet and in her free time enjoyed crafting, as well as hosting and entertaining friends and family. She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially penguins. She will also be remembered for her big heart and enormous generosity toward co-workers, friends and family.

Carol was a strong independent woman with a wonderful sarcastic wit and sense of humor. Survivors include her three children: Edward Jones, Robert Gilles and Christina Jones, as well as her mother, Karen (nee Kelly) Jones. Carol is preceded in death by her father, Robert William Jones.

Family will receive friends for a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the celebration of life service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Per Carol’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Carol’s memory to the family for their distribution.
