Obituary for Carole Grace Starnes Carole Grace Starnes, 77, of 701 Cedar Street and widow of Samuel Keith Starnes passed away June 18, 2018. She was born in Clinton and was the daughter of the late Victor Martin and Myrtle Louise Couch. Mrs. Starnes was the owner and operator of Empress Salon.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Johnson of Kinards; her son, Jackie D. Johnson (Charlotte) of Clinton; a brother, Randy Martin; a sister, Cornelia Jackson; three grandchildren, Christy Knowlton, Brandon Lewis, Erica Lewis; four great grandchildren, Aurjay Lewis, John Knowlton, Kylah Case and Caroline Knowlton. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with interment in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.
