OBITUARY Carole Rae Bohl December 7, 1925 – October 27, 2018 Carole Rae Devaul Bohl was born on December 7, 1925 in Lompoc, CA as the only child of James H. Spears and Neville Devaul Spears. Her mother passed away when Carole was only 20 months old, and she was raised by her loving Grandparents, James M. and Zella M. Devaul. Carole graduated from Lompoc High School and married her beloved life’s companion, Charles Bohl, in 1942.

Carole and Charlie lived and worked in Lompoc for almost 40 years before moving to Atascadero, CA in 1981 where Carole continued working in the Grocery Store business until retiring from Lucky’s Supermarket in 1990 after 42 years of clerking. They had purchased ten acres of land in the southern hills of Atascadero and built their dream ranch where they spent the remainder of their years enjoying their lives, their family, and their many friends of all ages. Charlie passed away in 1995, and their only child, James Bohl, spent many years on the ranch before passing in 2015.

Carole spent 37 years in Atascadero before passing due to natural causes at the age of 92. She is survived by two Grandchildren, Heather Bohl Moffitt and Chuck Bohl, and by three Great Grandchildren, Kasey and Kendall Moffitt and Drake Parker. Carole was a true friend to so many … Jim & Esther Sloan, June, Betty Hendrix, Cathy Hendrix, Van, Steve Van der Sluis and William & Erlinda Harris were some of her favorite people throughout much of her life.

Carole was very fond of her two daughter-in-law’s, Laragene Schuyler and La Verne Bohl. She was a devoted dog lover and her last two dogs, Tia & Sofie, gave her great love and comfort in her twilight years which she returned in kind. Carole was an amazing worker, wife, mother, grammie, great grandma and friend who was noted for being both a great listener and for being able to tell you just what she thought and believed.

She lived a full life, was sound in mind until the end, and left a rich legacy of memories for those whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed but will always remain in their hearts.
