Carolyn Elizabeth Simmons, (Lib), 75, of Norfolk, VA, was born on November 25, 1943, in Whitmire, SC. and went to rest in heaven on December 11, 2018. She graduated from Gallman High School in Newberry, SC, in 1961 as valedictorian and continued her studies at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC.

She retired after 33 years as head customer service clerk at Kroger Grocery stores. Carolyn is survived by her husband Willie Lee Simmons (Big Red) whom she married on January 24, 1964,her children Willyne E. Simmons, Anita L. James (Melvin), son ImHotep (Ma’at) Muhummad. Grandchildren, Cameron and Xavier Scot, Cydney Glass, Essence, Anu and Elijah Simmons, LaVont and Stephon Hudson and her sister Shirley Booker (Rev.

Isaac Booker III), Brother Dennis (Delores) Jeter III, brother Savoy (Brenda) Jeter. and a host of uncles, aunts,nephews, and nieces. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street in Steubenville, OH from 9-11 a.m. the Homegoing celebration will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Ft.

Steuben Burial Estates, 801 Canton Road in Wintersville, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial donations for the care of her husband, may be sent to Willyne E. Simmons, 868 W. Ocean View Ave. , Unit B, Norfolk, VA 23505 or paypal wes2love@yahoo.com.
