Carolyn Jean Byrd, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Church, in Seagrove.

Carolyn was born in Randolph County, on November 11, 1953. She enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, and raising animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nola Owens Maness Star and Ed Star; brother, Steve Maness; sisters, Mae Garner, and Evelyn Hill.

She is survived by her son, Tommy James Williams and wife Christy of Asheboro. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
