Obituary for Carrie Ann Rorabaugh Balas Carrie Ann (Rorabaugh) Balas, 45, of Irwin, formerly of Penn Township and Trafford, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018. She was born October 30, 1973 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Carole (Leukhardt) Rorabaugh of Penn Township and the late Harry Rorabaugh. Carrie was a graduate of Penn Trafford High School and attended Geneva College.

In both high school and college, she played soccer and was a member of the marching band. Carrie belonged to Calvary Baptist Church, Irwin, where she was a former member of the church choir. She was an excellent singer and at one time participated in local dinner theater performances.

She loved watching professional soccer, listening to music, researching genealogy, and enjoyed hand crafts especially book art. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Matthew C. Balas; her sisters, Donna Rorabaugh of Michigan and Susan Rorabaugh of Penn Township; her in-laws George and Sandra Balas of Monessen; sisters-in-law Jennifer (Charles) Diehl and Kathleen Balas; her nephews Brayden and Camden Diehl; also aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and her fur babies Indy, Penny, and Ginny. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, 101 Caruthers Lane, Irwin, with Rev. Mark Shaffer officiating. Those attending, please go directly to the church.
