Carsten “Carsey” Hovden January 31, 1923 – December 25, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Carsten “Carsey” Hovden, age 95, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street in Decorah with Rev. Chad Huebner presiding.

Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah and also after 10:00am at the church on Saturday morning. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is handling arrangements.

Carsten is survived by his sons: Greg (Linda) Hovden, Waverly, IA and Bruce (Carol) Hovden, Charles City, IA. Grandchildren: Kerry (Matt) Klunder, Mason City, IA; Lori (J.P.) Hyde, Ames, IA; April (Kyle) Ament, Colfax, IA and Ross Hovden, Charles City, IA. Great grandchildren: Matt, Josh, Sofie, Izzy, Hanna, Owen and Sean.

Great-great grandchildren: Cooper and Grayson along with many nieces and nephews.
