Catalina’s Obituary At 80 years of age Kathy passed away on Saturday April 27 at the Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea. Kathy was in residence there for several years receiving supportive care. Born and raised in San Lorenzo Puerto Rico she was a daughter of the late Maria Flores Rivera and Amparo Rivera, Sr. Her family settled in Chelsea in 1963 and she remained her for the past 55 years.

She worked for many years at Suffolk Farms and later with Sweetheart paper before retiring. In her lifetime Kathy enjoyed a simple homelife, family gatherings and celebrations and dancing. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three brothers; Anastacio and Jose Rivera and Amparo Rivera, Jr

She is survived by her beloved daughter Carmen Lopez of Springfield and was the cherished grandmother of Christopher and Victor Lopez and was blessed with 6 great grandchildren. She was the dearest sister of Pascula Ferrer, Maria Rivera and Ignacio Rivera all of Chelsea, Carmen Perez of NY, Emma Rivera of East Boston and Maximo Rivera of Revere. ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral will begin from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Thursday May 2, at 9:00 A.M. Followed by a funeral mass at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway Chelsea.

Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. funeral home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite funeral home.
