Caterine’s Obituary Catherine R. Mauck, nee Ray, 81, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born March 18, 1938 in Sheffield, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Oak Hill in Waterloo, Illinois. Catherine was a retired Extension Advisor for the University of Illinois Extension Service in Edwardsville and Mount Vernon, IL. She was a former member of the Rotary Club of Mount Vernon, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Mauck; her parents, Henry and Elizabeth, nee Buckner, Ray, Sr.; two brothers, Henry Ray, Jr. and Charles Ray; and two sisters, Lillian Ray and Esther Devos. Surviving are her son, Michael (Rene) Mauck of Millstadt, IL; three sisters, Harriet Primo and Eleanor (Ivan) Mark, both of Sheffield, IL, and Cynthia (Larry) Dowdel of Yuma, AZ; and two grandsons, Henry and James Mauck. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Condolences may be expressed online at braunfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn. or to the U of I Extension Service.

It was Catherine’s wishes that her body be cremated. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
