Obituary for Catherine Dorman Print Catherine Brennan Dorman, 100, of West Haven entered into rest on January 30, 2019. She was the wife of the late Bennett Dorman and daughter of the late Walter H. and Katherine (McGuire) Brennan. Mrs. Dorman leaves her daughter Diane Arduini, grandson Tom (Dayna) and two great grandsons Thomas (TJ) and Ryan.
She was predeceased by her son in law Ray Arduini and brothers William and Thomas Brennan. She was a lifelong resident of Prospect Beach and could often be found walking along the shore. A very devoted, warm and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, Catherine always put her family first.
She loved spending time with her grandson’s family. They were bright stars in her life. Catherine graduated from Stone Business College in 1936 and began her working career at SNET.
By 1955 she worked for the City of West Haven, handling the entire city’s payroll. In 1967 she moved to the West Haven Board of Education as a secretary, where is helped to prepare Carrigan Middle School for its’ opening. She then worked as Secretary of Special Education in the Blake Administration Building until she was 76 years of age.
Visitation will take place on MONDAY morning from 9 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
