Catherine Mae Mihalcin Verba, age 84 of Rostraver Twp. , Belle Vernon, formerly of Perryopolis, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the home of her sister. She was born on June 22, 1934 in Van Meter, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Tucker Mihalcin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Barney” Verba; siblings: Margaret Barcovteh, Eleanor Barbus, Steve Mihalcin, Darlene Basista, John Mihalcin. Caherine is survived by her brother: Robert (Winnie) Mihalcin; sisters: Rose Mihalcin of Whitsett, Susan (Jacob) Hall of Belle Vernon, Mary (Frank) Batronis of Leesburg, FL, Karen (Wayne) Scanlan of Kiser, WV; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine’s family would like to thank Anova Hospice for the wonderful care given to Catherine.

Catherine’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where her funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA.
