Cecil Loren Adamson November 14, 1930 – September 21, 2018 Cecil Lauren Adamson was born on November 14, 1930. Having been born at the onset of the Great Depression in Murtaugh, Idaho; Cecil knew real poverty. After his father lost his home, Cecil’s family was forced to live in a potato cellar for a time while his father built a new home, or as Cecil would call it: “A basement with a roof”.

Despite these hardships he learned from his father to always work hard, be honest, and treat others right. He eventually joined the Air Force to escape Murtaugh, Idaho but he never saw being born into poverty as a disadvantage. Instead he looked at his childhood fondly, and loved his time in Murtaugh.

After joining the Air Force he built up a great career, married Marilynn Weidenmier-the girl he fell in love with at BYU- and trained to become an Officer in ROTC…Together they raised their family. During his career as a pilot Cecil flew Airplanes all over the world. He was stationed in areas such as Japan and Thailand.

His aircraft of choice was the KC135, the plane he flew during refueling missions. Cecil retired from the Air Force with the rank of Major and then worked in the private sector for the rest of his career. Cecil was preceded in death by his son, James and his wife, Marilynn.

He is survived by his children, Mitchel Adamson, Valerie Alley, and Andrea Wallace, grandchildren Mathew, Tyler, Nick, Drew, and Jay Adamson, April Adamson Dumont, Addison,Tavis and Alec Alley, Madison and Riley Wallace and great grandchildren Skylar, Kara and Owen Adamson and Alice and Cecilia Alley. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 2018, 12:00 p.m. at the Country Park 4th Ward (LDS Church), 11251 S. 2700 W.
